Gathering Bonafide Data that Reflects the Best of
Our Humanity - Compassion
Send images to: data@thefacesofcompassion.org
The Faces of Compassion Project is a global initiative to create
and gather data about compassion in life. We do this
because positive psychology from images and words has a positive
impact on our health. Our data collection is given
by people, not harvested from the internet by an algorithm.
We collect images of faces and activities in life from people who are devoted to or trained in compassion; whose
lives or jobs are based on compassion; and from people who care.
If you'd like to
participate, we invite you to get in touch.
Scientists at Stanford University and in Sweden have discovered
that when we witness or express compassion it stimulates the
creation of a neurohormone called oxytocin. And, its
contagious! Oxytocin has a positive impact on our
entire body, speech and mind - over 50% of our bodily
functions (so far) through the neurohormone
oxytocin. We have made an educational
film about this called "Oxytocin and Compassion."
